Winter is coming and that means it’s time to say goodbye to oversized sunnies, sexy corset belts, and comfy sandals. But fear not, the designers and trendsetters have spoken, and brought us 10 new winter accessories to go crazy for.
And what we’ve noticed is the bigger and bolder your winter accessories are, the better. Amid the sea of grey jumpers, camel jackets and black tights, a little bit of colour and fun are definitely welcomed.
So what accessories should you be putting in your cart this season? Here are 10 of our tops picks – from Rihanna inspired winter sunglasses to giant fold-over bags, winter is proving to be just as stylish as summer.
The fold-over bag
Tapping into the more casual side of winter, fold-over bags are a great break from conventional styles. Fold-over bags are great for any occasion – casual enough for lunch with the girls, yet cool enough for a cocktail party.

This bold look can be a little intimidating to the fashion novice, but all you need to pull off this winter accessory is confidence. White ankle boots, like all ankle boots, work well with any outfit. Dress them down with a pair of trendy cropped jeans, or up with a sassy swing dress.
Remember the ’80s, when boys and girls wore a beret with every outfit? Well, that trend is back and chicer than ever. Tap into your inner Parisian and get yourself a cute beret. Much like a coat, a beret has the wonderful ability to take an outfit from just fine to oh-so-fabulous.
The fanny pack
We are equally as upset about the revival of this trend… We thought we buried it in the ’90s; but alas, a millennial found and resurrected the fanny pack, or moon bag, or belt bag (it’s most recent name). Whatever you call it, fanny packs are in every store at the moment, and on the hips of every fashionista in town. For those of you bold enough to try this (again), opt for one with a smaller bag – it’s just a little more stylish than the larger one.

How cute are these earrings? The lock-and-key jewellery trend is in full swing and we love it. It’s probably the easiest trend to try and incorporate into your everyday attire, and it can be worn for many more seasons to come.
Kitten heel courts
Comfort is king when it comes to winter fashion. Which is where the kitten heel steps in… You may have shrugged your shoulders at this in summer, but trust us, this trend will be your lifesaver in the colder months. Get the trend in mules, courts, and of course, boots.
Faux fur bag
Yep, you read that correctly. Faux fur is popping up on everything – from bags and hats to shoes and earrings. For the bold at heart, a furry bag is a perfect way to make a statement without having to say a word.
You’ve seen them on your favourite musician, and now you can own a pair too. These trendy (and teeny tiny) sunglasses are cool enough to be worn by all the stylish fashionistas, yet wearable enough for you to rock on the weekend.
Put away your dainty earrings and necklaces, and get in on the chunky, over-sized jewellery trend. Like we said, bigger is better when it comes to winter accessories. Whether you like dramatic costume jewellery, or fun tassel earrings, there is something out there for everyone.

Faux fur scarves
So, just in case we weren’t clear, faux fur (and feathers) are kind of a big deal this winter. Basically, everything you buy needs to be fur… Okay, maybe not everything. But everyone can pull off a cute faux fur scarf. Plus, it will keep you extra toasty warm so it’s a practical buy too.
