Yes you look great in that red lipstick, but is it clean and free from germs? Follow these easy make up cleaning tips and fret no more.
Start with your make up bag
Remove all of your make up and make up brushes from your bag. If you can, turn your bag inside out. Use anti-bacterial wipes to give the bag a good wipe — make sure you get right into the corners. This should get rid of most of the dirt and germs. Alternatively, use warm water and soap and lightly clean your bag. Leave to air dry.
Take the lid off your lipstick and pop it in the freezer for a few hours. It might seem strange, but this will kill off the germs — just don’t forget it there!
Mascara should be replaced every 3 months. Don’t try and save it and risk getting an eye infection.
These should last up to 3 months, but it’s important to clean them with liquid soap at least once a week to prevent the spread of bacteria.
Every so often, especially if you’ve shared your eyeshadow, disinfect it. Don’t worry, it’s easier than it sounds — simply wipe away the excess powder with a tissue, lightly spray with an alcohol solution and let dry.
After you’ve given them a good wash, let your make up brushes air dry — and don’t be tempted to use a hair dryer, as this will damage the bristles.
