You’ve heard of bath bombs, but we want you to try shower bombs. Simply place a shower bomb (sometimes also called shower fizzies or shower melts) in the shower and the vapours will cleanse, soothe and relax.
Basically shower bombs are an incredibly easy way to turn every shower into a 5-minute spa experience. Bliss! And, if you like, you can also use your shower bombs in the bath ;).
What you’ll need to make shower bombs
- Silicone moulds or cupcake pan
- 1 cup bicarbonate of soda
- ¼ cup of cornstarch
- 1 x packet of tartaric acid (this is what makes it fizz)
- A few drops of your favourite essential oil
How to make shower bombs
Steps 1 to 3: Place all the dry ingredients in a small bowl.
Step 4: Mix together to remove any large lumps
Steps 5 to 8: Add a few drops of essential oil, then slowly mix in 4 tbsp of water — the mixture will fizz slightly while you mix it thoroughly.
Step 9: The mixture should resemble wet sand and hold together when squeezed
Steps 10 to 12: Place handfuls in the mould, then press them firmly into the mould and allow to dry for at least an hour.
Step 10: Turn out onto a tray and allow to dry overnight
