Our local Instagram accounts are truly just as good as their international counterparts. The content producers are consistently coming up with amazing, fashion-forward and artistic posts for our viewing pleasure. The wonderful thing about our local Instagram accounts is the diversity; as with our beautiful country itself, you can find different kinds of people (and posts) from all walks of life.
Instagram pages are great places to find inspiration for fashion, beauty, travel and food. And it’s a great platform for these home-grown Instagram girls to share their style and passions with the rest of the world. Plus, it’s wonderful to ogle over new fashion trends and styles that are available in SA; and of course, to see how those looks are put together.
So our fashion editor has put together a list of our favourite local Instagram pages you should be following and she’s got something for everyone. If you know of any other awesome fashionistas on Instagram that you think everyone should be following, let us know in the comment section below or on social media.
Kenny Jules Morifi-Winslow
Clean lines and a clear vision are great words to describe this page. Drawing inspiration from her travels, heritage and beautiful fashion sense, Kenny creates a truly unique way of telling fashion stories.
The Ivy Wolfe
The Minimale Blogger
Creating awareness around fast fashion and the impact it has on the planet is something I take great pride in doing. As a blogger I’ve had to check myself and what my impact on the environment is through my fashion consumption – constantly asking, “are my clothes ethically sourced and manufactured?” _____ Today I can happily share that @hm’s new conscious collection is not only beautiful, but also made responsibly. This week I’ll be showcasing the versatility of one piece from the upcoming #HMConsciousExclusive, emphasizing that you don’t need a huge wardrobe to be effortlessly stylish. ____ To read more about the collection and why I’m so drawn to it, visit the link in my bio.
Entrepreneur and stylist Thithi Nteta is such an inspiration to women looking to start their own businesses. Her Instagram page is just as well thought out and worked on as her career. Her fashion style is eclectic and romantic, but totally wearable.
Saarah Jasmin Wajei
Contrary to popular belief, you don’t have to show skin to make it in the fashion industry. Saarah is dispelling Instagram myths one headwrap at a time. The designer and entrepreneur is a refreshing change from the ‘Insta-norm’ of baring it all for the camera. Her style is chic and a bit OTT and we love it.
