1. Buff up daily
Body brushing for a week or two before you go on holiday can help reduce puffy water retention and make your thighs look slimmer, as well as visibly improving the condition of your skin. Use a natural bristle brush on dry skin, and every morning brush your body in long, sweeping movements, focusing on problem areas like wobbly thighs, bums and arms.
Can’t lose a dress size before you jet off? Eating lots of fruit and veg and drinking plenty of water will improve your circulation. For a few days before you go away avoid bread, pasta and anything sugary and stick to homemade soups, steamed fish, veg and fruit salads. You’ll feel slimmer and less lumpy when you hit the beach.
3. Pummel those thighs
There are a million and one creams out there claiming to sort out your orange-peel thighs, but realistically nothing is going to work on its own. Your best bet? Practise lymphatic drainage massage every day as you apply your firming cream. This is amazing for getting rid of fluid and puffiness as well as toning your muscles and firming your skin. Work the cream up your leg from your ankle to your knee, then up your thighs towards your bottom. Use firm kneading movements, first in circular movements, then in long strokes up your leg — the aim is to move all that fluid that gives your thighs a spongy texture.
