Christmas markets in Johannesburg
Bryanston Organic & Natural Market’s Moonlight Markets
Known for their Moonlight Markets during the festive season, The Bryanston Organic & Natural Market is once again making late Christmas shopping possible. Gather loved ones and head on over to experience their range of handcrafted Christmas gifts, decorations and food. A candle making stall, will be open from 9am to 2pm every Saturday for children to try their hand at the art of candle making. The entrance fee for adults to the market is R20 and children under 12 years can enter for free. Visitors can pay at the door or pre-book on Quicket.

Wonderland of Lights – Walter Sisulu Botanical Gardens
Walter Sisulu National Botanical Garden is converting into a Christmas wonderland. The Wonderland of Lights and Market will outshine any other family holiday activity this festive season. There will be over 13 unique themed stages lighting up the already beautiful botanical conservatory. Bring your picnic basket, chairs and blankets and spend quality time with your loved ones in the picturesque expanse of the garden while enjoying a host children’s activities. Tickets are limited so make sure o book yours here.

Emperors Palace Garden of Lights
One of Gauteng’s most anticipated lights display will once again brighten up the East Rand when Emperors Palace switches on their Garden of Lights this festive season. It’s a South African adaptation of a winter wonderland, light extravaganza and yuletide adventure all rolled into one. Packed with fun activities for the whole family, the garden will be open daily between 7pm and 10pm. Opening hours will be weather dependent, and tickets are sold by time slots at half-hour intervals and are subject to availability. Tickets are R25 per person and R100 for a Festive Family Package of five people. Children under 2 years enter free

Gabriëlskloof’s Favourite Things Market
The Gabriëlskloof Our Favourite Things Market 2019 is back for another year and as always, features hand-picked stalls with this season’s must-have goodies. The focus has always been on treasures stylish, handmade, homemade and collectable and this year will be no different. Visitors will be able to indulge in baked treats and buy everything from beautiful handmade jewellery to home-knits, all in one phenomenal setting at Gabriëlskloof (a wine estate in Botrivier).
Entrance is free, but guests have the option of booking a table for Friday night at R100 per person (very limited availability)

Pinelands Craft and Gift Fair
Pinelands Craft & Gift Fair is a great opportunity to catch up on Christmas and end-of-year gift shopping in a relaxed and friendly environment. There will be a selection of 160 crafters in one venue and credit card facilities will be available. You can expect to bag delicious treats, baskets, wire and leather work, glassware and needlework, and much more on sale. The fair will be open from 9am until 7pm from Monday to Friday (including the public holiday) and from 9am until 5pm on the weekends too. Entry is free and secure parking will be provided.

Fab Ideas Christmas Gift Fair
Fab Ideas Christmas Gift Fair promises a vibrant family-friendly shopping experience for all. Christmas markets in Durban
Trail of Lights at Durban Botanic Gardens
The annual Trail of Lights will once again take place at the Durban Botanic Gardens, which will be transformed into an enchanting Christmas wonderland after sunset. Follow the glowing trail along the Botanic Garden’s paths, where the kids can look out for Santa and other magical Christmas characters like forest fairies and elves. Adults can look forward to a few treats too with a food garden that will feature local artisan vendors, a host of pop-up stalls and live music at the lake. Tickets can be pre-booked for R50 via webtickets.co.za and at Pick n Pay stores, while entrance fee at the door will be R80. Children under the age of two enter free.

The Festive Market
Hillcrest’s favourite indoor Christmas Market is back and it offers shoppers the opportunity to pick up a shopping basket and browse over 100 tables of gifts, clothes, treats and Christmas goodies. While shopping can be enjoyed indoors, there will be lots of food and fun outdoors. Credit and debit cards are welcome. Doors open at 9am and closes at 5pm daily.
