These days everyone is watching how many carbs they eat, so we’ve put together a list of easy low carb recipes for you to try. Mix and match the sides and mains and you won’t have to worry about what to cook for dinner for months!
Low carb breakfasts
We’ve got the most important meal of the day covered. Start your day the right way with a spicy breakfast served with slices of avo, an easy one-pan breakfast (just leave out the potato if you’re really cutting the carbs) a full English frittata or these spinach and corn bakes — which also make great lunch box fillers.
Low carb sides
The secret to making low carb living work is to fill your plate with scrumptious sides that won’t have you missing the pasta or bread. The best thing about most of these sides is that they’re packed with good-for-you veg, so you’ll be getting your five a day, too!
Low carb mains
These showstopping mains are all impressive enough to serve at a dinner party, but easy enough to whip up on a school night — who says easy low carb recipes have to be boring?
There’s nothing better than a tasty sauce to take a dish from bland to brilliant, and this incredibly easy mayo is definitely our favourite low carb sauce. Serve it alongside chicken strips, prawns, cut up veggies or boiled eggs and watch the family clean their plates.
Skipping dessert is probably the most difficult part of cutting the carbs, but now you don’t have to. Some of these desserts do have a sprinkling of sugar, but we’ve found they’re tasty enough to leave it out, or if you’ve got a really sweet tooth, replace it with xylitol.
