A well-planned Easter egg hunt will only keep the kids entertained for so long. You’ll probably need a few fun reinforcements for a successful long weekend, like this Easter bunny-inspired game perfect for kids.
Plus, you can get your little ones to help make it – another activity to keep them busy during the upcoming public holidays.
What you will need
- A large piece of cardboard
- Acrylic paint
- Black marker pen
- Orange and green felt
- Needle and thread
- Dried peas or rice
How to turn a cardboard box into a fun game for Easter weekend
- Carefully freehand draw a bunny head on a blank A3 piece of paper.
- Put the template in the middle of the cardboard and draw around it. Draw a semicircular mouth and cut out. Paint the bunny head with acrylic paint – we used a lightly tinted pink – and leave to dry. Apply a second coat. When dry, outline the head with a black marker pen and add inner ears, eyes, a nose and whiskers.
- To make the carrot bean bags, cut out some orange felt triangles and green felt leaf shapes. Take two orange pieces and pin them together, trapping a leaf at the top. Sew around all the sides, leaving a small opening for the filling. Fill the bean bag with dried peas or rice, then stitch up the opening.
