Yes really! An easy yoga move, nicknamed the Vagina Facelift, will give your sex life a boost while firming up your face. Win, win!
Here’s a fun fact: how youthful you look and your vagina are linked. ‘The tone and health of the cervix and the vaginal walls are directly related to the tone and radiance of the skin on the face,’ says Kundalini yoga expert Harmanjot Kaur.
‘So when you practise strengthening the vaginal walls, you give yourself a facelift.’ The Vagina Facelift is based on the Sat Kriya pose, which Harmanjot says will give you clarity, energy and relaxation in just three minutes.
‘This is great for new mums,’ she says. ‘Bringing elasticity and strength back to the pelvic floor increases confidence, empowerment and, of course, sex!’
Top Tip ‘Kundalini yoga is a practice of improvement, not perfection. So if you can’t get your arms over your head or find the rhythm of the navel pull and release right away, there’s nothing to worry about. Just keep practising and your body will naturally find the pace.’
Here’s how to do it…
- Keep eyes closed, gently focus up and in at the brow point.
- Kneel with your buttocks on the heels. Bring arms overhead, stretching from the armpits, and then steeple the index fingers and interlace the other fingers. Cross the left thumb over the right.
- Breathe naturally and chant ‘Sat Nam’ out loud. On Sat, pull your rectum, sex organs, and navel point up and in. On Nam, release the lock. Continue for at least three minutes.
- To finish, inhale, stretch more, and pull your rectum, sex organs, and navel point up and in. Exhale and release. Repeat. Inhale and relax the arms and gently lower yourself onto your back. Ideally, relax on the back for the same amount of time that you practised Sat Kriya (above). Or at least for a couple of minutes if you don’t have time.
