If eating healthier is one of your New Year’s resolutions, a great way of doing it is by packing your own lunch. Here are some great ideas:
Tip 1: A Freshline baked potato, dolloped with cream cheese and scattered with herbs makes a delicious desk lunch.
Tip 2: Try a nectarine and butternut smoothie by blending cooked butternut with a nectarine, yoghurt and a little honey to taste. Add a dash of milk or water to create the consistency you like; then pour into a bottle and enjoy on the go.
Tip 3: Bananas make an excellent snack, dessert or breakfast. Their versatility means they’re easy to include in your diet.
Tip 4: Freshline guacamole spread onto rye toast and topped with pickled mushrooms makes an excellent nutritious lunch or breakfast. To pickle fresh mushrooms, simply add 1 cup of store-bought salad dressing and 1 cup water to a pot. Bring to the boil, add halved mushrooms and simmer for 1 minute, then remove from heat, drain and store mushrooms in a sealed jar in the fridge for up to five days to use when you like.
